WEEK 13 & 14: Design Assets Progress

3D Design Assets:
As I have stated in previous week, my 3D assets in Blender didn't worked out. So, I tried to use Spline again and see if I can achieve what I wanted. I started by finding a tutorial in YouTube on how to start on using Spline. In the tutorial that have made by Spline official YouTube account, it explains on how to create 3D glass material.


After I did, it still didn't look as what I have planned and expected. It is slight better than what I had did in Blender, but again, not really what I want to achieve. The lighting are not what I wanted despite experimenting with the luminance and the angle of the lights, same goes to the material of the objects. At this point, I'm a bit lost on how to actually fix this problem that I have. So, I decided to just find more tutorial and videos that could potentially help me to fix the problem.

Then, I stumbled onto a new 3D software called 'Womp 3D' and most of the examples has the same style of the art direction that I am referencing to. So, again, I decide to try this new software and see if I could create a 3D assets that I wanted.


When I experimented with HDRI lightings, I was not sure on which one looks better. So I decided to ask some of my friends for their opinions on which lighting suits better and looks more cozy and welcoming. All my friends prefer Lighting 2 because it looks more cozy with the warm and pink hues.

I am pretty much happy with the result for now, because the outcome is very similar and close to the references that I have chosen. I decide to use Womp 3D from now on to create the 3D assets. So I continue to further improve the 3D modelling by adding some small details and make the modelling to be more rounder.

Then I continue to create another 3D asset, while learning on how to make use of the Womp 3D software. I refer to a lot of tutorials that are made by Womp 3D official YouTube account, because Womp 3D is fairly a new software that is still in Alpha test. So there is not much tutorials made by other people but from Womp 3D itself. It's still helping me though, because their tutorials are pretty easy to follow and explained well.

WEEK 10 & 11: Design & Prototyping Phase

  Date: 9 - 16 January 2024 Lo-Fidelity Wireframing : In these two weeks, I start to focus on completing the pages as much as I can before Week 12 for the presentation. I personally felt like I was a bit struggling with planning the layout of each pages because I have to keep on changing and experimenting on which layout looks more easy on the eyes, and if it's suitable and consistent with other pages that is already designed. WEEK 7: Do Good Project Proposal

Date: 19 December 2023 Learning Plan : This week I refined my learning plan based on the feedback that I received from last week. I decided to focus on improving my prototyping skills by using an advance prototype tool, which is ProtoPie. ProtoPie is a prototype tool that is widely used by experts in the UI/UX design industry. It offers a lot of features that other softwares don't have. My current prototype skills is slightly above average because of previous semester subjects, and I find myself to be interested in leveling up my skills in this area. I finally be able to finalize my Phase 1 and Phase 2 with the new changes that I have made. I researched on how to make my learning process easier and smoother by exploring resources that is available online.
