WEEK 15 & 16: Progress & Demo Day
Date: 20 - 27 February 2024
Prototyping:
In the 'CAPSOUL To The Sea' feature, there's a page where user can move/tilt their phone around to find capsule. I manage to achieve this interaction through learning from a YouTube video from ProtoPie where they have an example of this interaction. They included a prototype file of this interaction, so I downloaded it and see how they made this interaction.
They use a sensor trigger called 'Tilt', and it can chose which axis do I want it to be titled in. It was pretty confusing at first, so I have to also go back to the documentation that has been provided by ProtoPie website to understand on how to make it work better. Then, I also include 'Camera' inside the interaction so that it will opens up the phone's rear camera when they are in this page. This is to kind of simulate the AR kind of interaction in this prototype.

Gradient Design Assets:
I start creating some gradient design assets for the app, mainly to be used as background image of the pages. I refer to my art direction references, and attempted to get similar results. Some worked, and some didn't.

3D Design Assets:
I continued to create more assets 3D assets, but then I realised that Womp 3D can't export transparent background videos or PNG sequences. They can only exported as PNG or a video with a background. Plus, they are not much settings to animate the 3D model other than use the existing 'Turn' animation or manually move each model while it is being screen recording. This is quite frustrating because at this point, I have already finalized some of the 3D models.
So, I tried to research around if it's possible to make it happen in another way. I found a YouTube tutorial by user 'jbdtube' where he explains how to import the 3D model and materials from Womp 3D to Blender. Then, I attempt to do this and see if I could import it to Blender and animate it.
Once I finally import it inside Blender, the only problem is that the lighting is totally different than what I have achieved in Womp 3D. No matter that lighting I put, it just looks different and now what I wanted.

Then I found that it could be because of the HDRI. So, I managed to find the same HDRI that is being used by Womp 3D and apply it in Blender. However, it still doesn't look quite like it.
With no solution to this, I start to put this away and focus on modelling in Womp 3D to get as much as assets done.

Demo Day:
On demo day, I managed to test my app with 6 people. All 6 people answered my survey form and gave me their feedbacks and suggestions.

After gathering the data, I made an action plan table. I have listed out what are my proposed actions on the feedbacks and analyse why they give such feedbacks.
