WEEK 8 & 9: Project Initialisation

After Submitting My Proposal:
After getting my Do Good Project Proposal ready, I decided to consult with my lecturer to ask for some feedbacks on my Gannt Chart and Learning Plan as he had asked me to rethink what do I want to learn in this project. I explained to him and also introduce ProtoPie, an advanced prototyping tool that offers a lot of features to take prototype projects more further. I explained that by using ProtoPie, I would have to start from scratch to learn on how to use the software as it is more advance. This will take a lot of time, because ProtoPie has a lot of features and tools that Figma doesn't have.

I had also mentioned to my lecturer that I would be also be using Figma to design the wireframes and pages. This is because Figma and ProtoPie works really well together, and ProtoPie are focusing more towards prototyping instead of designing. I was considering to do the wireframe prototype in Figma and only start using ProtoPie after I finish finalizing the pages in Figma. However, my lecturer advises on starting making the prototype straight away in ProtoPie. This is to avoid wasting time on Figma because I have to kickstart learning on how to use ProtoPie as soon as possible. I agree with his feedback, and proceed to follow his suggestion.

Initializing The Project:
After finalizing my proposal, I move one to the design phase. I start by searching for references on the art direction and the layout for my pages in Pinterest. Here are some of the references that I have chosen that I think would suit with the target audience for this project. I am aiming to go for cozy and calm aesthetics with warm colors, to make users feel more comfortable while using this app. I believe that going with low poly styled 3D assets would make it look more friendly and comfy to the eyes, and the usage of warm color gradients would evoke the feeling of

After that, I began to create some lo-fidelity wireframes of my pages in Figma. I designed by referring to some of the references that I have used, but I also improvised and changed accordingly to my page contents. There are a lot of testing with the layouts because I am not sure on how make it look either too redundant, or too simple.

WEEK 10 & 11: Design & Prototyping Phase

  Date: 9 - 16 January 2024 Lo-Fidelity Wireframing : In these two weeks, I start to focus on completing the pages as much as I can before Week 12 for the presentation. I personally felt like I was a bit struggling with planning the layout of each pages because I have to keep on changing and experimenting on which layout looks more easy on the eyes, and if it's suitable and consistent with other pages that is already designed. WEEK 7: Do Good Project Proposal

Date: 19 December 2023 Learning Plan : This week I refined my learning plan based on the feedback that I received from last week. I decided to focus on improving my prototyping skills by using an advance prototype tool, which is ProtoPie. ProtoPie is a prototype tool that is widely used by experts in the UI/UX design industry. It offers a lot of features that other softwares don't have. My current prototype skills is slightly above average because of previous semester subjects, and I find myself to be interested in leveling up my skills in this area. I finally be able to finalize my Phase 1 and Phase 2 with the new changes that I have made. I researched on how to make my learning process easier and smoother by exploring resources that is available online. There are a lot of platforms that is useful for me to look forward into when I am learning the new software.
